From Hilo Airport: Driving Time = 15 to 20 minutes Upon exiting the Hilo Airport go left (south) at the Kanoelehua Ave (Highway 11) intersection. There is an Aloha Gas Station across the street. Follow Highway 11 out of town past Walmart, Ross, Office Max, & Borders. You will also pass the Prince Kuhio Shopping Mall (Sears, Hilo Hattie's, Macy's & more). All of these stores will be on your left. When you reach the 6 mile marker, get into the left lane. You will see a sign that says "Pahoa". At approximately the 6.5 mile marker there is a traffic light at which you will go left. This is the new bypass road, too new to be on any map. *If you miss this exit you can go to the next light and take a left. That is called the Keaau intersection. The road will merge with the new bypass and you will be on Highway 130 heading towards Pahoa and Kalapana. Once on Highway 130 you will pass the Hawaii Humane Society. It will be on your left. The first of four entrances into Hawaiian Paradise Park (HPP) will be Shower Drive on your left. It is at approximately the 3.5 mile marker. To your right will be Pohaku Drive which will take you into the Pohaku Circle section of HPP. The second main entrance into HPP is Kaloli Drive at about the 4.5 mile marker. The third main entrance will be Paradise Drive at about the 5.5 mile marker. The fourth & last entrance into HPP is Makuu Drive at about the 6.5 mile marker. *If you see a sign for Ainaloa...you've gone too far. Turn around and go back. The next right is Makuu. Drive. Go right at the traffic light. Pass McDonalds and follow the signs to Pahoa. You will merge into the new bypass road. From there the directions are the same as above.
